EUROPEAN PROGRAMMEMES
The current multiannual financial framework envisages the EU investment prospects and new programmes to support and respond to the policy priorities of the Community for the 2014-2020 period.
The European Commission runs the multiannual financial framework, through both the indirect and the direct management of the funds.
Indirect management of the Member States and/or regions is responsible for the implementation of the structural funds and investment. The Commission devoted just over a third of the budget to regional and cohesion policy.
Direct management is responsible for programmes that, through open and international competition, call for specific projects. In this case, funding for 2014-2020 is more than 120,000 million Euros that is managed by the general directorates of the European Commission in charge of the different public policies or decentralised through its executive agencies or offices.
