PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS
Your Voice in Europe is the European Commission's new 'single access point' to a wide variety of consultations, discussions and other tools which enable you to play an active role in the European policy-making process.
“Better Regulation” is a program by which the Commission wants to listen to what citizens and interested parties think from the very moment an idea comes out to the approval of the proposal and the evaluation of the measure.
This opinion can be communicated at the beginning of the process by means of Roadmaps or Inception Impact Assessments.
Depending on the initiative, there can be different types of consultations: for example specific or public. Public consultations allow giving an opinion about key aspects on Inception Impact Assessments of the Commission proposals in their elaboration phase, but also about basic aspects of the assessments and adaptation controls of the current measures. Public consultations are open for a minimum period of 12 weeks.
It is possible to opine on the Commission proposals when they are finished as well as when it is approved by the College of Commissioners.
Sending comments about important delegated and implementing acts will also be possible soon.
The website Lighten the load allows citizens to suggest how to improve EU laws to the Commission.
