Ensure that EU legislation is complied with. Together with the Court of Justice, the Commission ensures that EU legislation is correctly applied in all member countries.
Represents the EU on the international scene. He speaks on behalf of all EU countries before international organizations, especially on issues of trade policy and humanitarian aid and negotiates international agreements on behalf of the EU.
