The European Parliament

 

The European Parliament is an important forum for political debate and decision at the EU level. Its deputies are elected directly by the results of all the states to represent the interests of citizens in the EU legislative process and ensure the democratic functioning of other institutions of the Union.

Over the years, the root of the successive changes in the European Treaties, the Parliament has improved the legislative and budgetary powers that are adjusted, the joint form with the representatives of the Member States in the Council, the direction towards which orients the European project.

In carrying out its role, Parliament has always tried to promote democracy and human rights, not only in Europe but throughout the world.
