Murcia Región Europea Activities

The 11th edition of the Debate League of the educational program “Learn to Debate” was held at the University Social Center of the University of Murcia, bringing together more than 140 high school students from 27 educational centers throughout the Region.

On March 12 and 13, EUROPE DIRECT Region of Murcia participated in the general meeting in Brussels, which brought together more than 400 EUROPE DIRECT centers from across the European Union. This annual meeting provided an opportunity to exchange best practices, strengthen cooperation between centers, and coordinate European communication strategies for the coming years.

Europe Direct Region of Murcia gave a talk in the Market Sombra section of the Murcia European Fiction Film Festival. Christian Solanas, from the Communication and Promotion department of the MEDIA Office Spain, was also present.

Europe Direct Region of Murcia participated in the 4th European Union Olympics, organized by Team Europe. The event is unique, as the EU Olympics are the only ones organized and staffed entirely by young volunteers. This structure reinforces the role of new generations as ambassadors of the European spirit and drivers of civic engagement in their schools.

Murcia hosted the 11th edition of the "City of Murcia" debate tournament from February 13th to 15th, in a BP format, bringing together 40 teams and approximately 120 participants. The six qualifying rounds covered a wide range of topics, from fantasy and political debates to technological, geopolitical, and aesthetic issues. After the break, the top teams competed in semifinals on the EU-MERCOSUR agreement and a final featuring a dystopian motion on a "National Purge Law." The UC3M PR team emerged victorious. The tournament's vibrant social atmosphere, with activities such as karaoke and a party, solidified the event's status as a highlight of the debate circuit.

The IES Salzillo school hosted an international KA1 program activity for students from Murcia and the Czech Republic, focusing on disinformation. The session, conducted in English, reinforced critical thinking, digital competence, and practical language use, while also promoting European values ​​such as cooperation and intercultural respect.

Europe Direct Region of Murcia was pleased to participate this year in the “ENAE Future Jobs Day 2026 Fair,” the largest job fair organized by ENAE Business School at the Espinardo Campus (University of Murcia). It was held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
