Torre Pacheco Celebrates the First European Conference on Coexistence: “40 Years of Spain in the European Union.”

The first European Conference on Coexistence, “40 Years of Spain in the EU,” was held, organized by the Sabina Mora and Luis Manzanares Secondary Schools, with the collaboration of the Torre Pacheco City Council.

The CAES (Center for Educational Support and Education) hosted the exhibition of proposals and educational projects on coexistence carried out by the participating schools, which, in addition to the organizers, included the Gerardo Molina Secondary School and the San Antonio and El Pasico schools.

Also attending this important event were the Secretary General of the Regional Ministry of Education, Carmen María Zamora, and the Director General of the European Union for the Autonomous Community, Adrián Zitelli. Both emphasized the importance of these conferences, which aim to strengthen European awareness.

Mari Carmen Sáez, a teacher at the Sabina Mora Institute and coordinator of the European Parliament Ambassador Schools program at the school, outlined the day's activities before the start of the event. She highlighted a play about gender violence and a performance by David Andreú, a singer from Murcia, who sang a song about bullying.

The event featured the participation of Socialist MEP Marcos Ros, and videos were shown featuring fellow MEPs Nicolás Pascual and Maravilla Abadía, who explained to the young people the importance of European policies and promoted European values ​​among them. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening a sense of belonging to a common entity made up of different countries that share values ​​and common regulations, as Marcos Ros explained before the event began.

The Director General of the European Union, Adrián Zittelli, and representatives from the Europe Direct Region of Murcia center also participated in the event.

The day ended in the Plaza Alcalde Pedro Jiménez with the display of flags of Torre Pacheco and the European Union.
