European funding
This section will provide information about the main European direct management programmes, in which the European Commission regulates, manages and allocates resources through grants, which are articulated through European projects, and subject to the principles of transparency, equal treatment, non-accumulation, non-retroactivity and co-financing and transnationality (partners from other Member States of the EU or other countries are required depending on the programme and the call).
Grants are awarded according to calls for proposals and within the framework of a funding programme which sets out the objectives, priorities and actions for carrying out a given European policy.
The programmes set out the actions to be funded and the general requirements to be met by the beneficiary/participating countries. As a general rule, European programmes are described annually in Work Programmes.
