Europass is a dossier of five documents that help citizens present their qualifications and skills clearly and facilitate employers' recruitment of workers from different countries within the European Economic Area.

This tool allows you to:

  • Help citizens present their skills and qualifications effectively to find work or training.
  • Help employers understand workers' skills and qualifications.
  • Help education and training authorities define and communicate the content of study programs.

Two of the documents, which are freely available, can be completed by the individual: the Curriculum Vitae and the Language Passport. The other three are issued by the education authorities.

Europass Mobility Document
This is a document that records the knowledge and skills acquired in other European countries, such as work placements in a company; an academic year as part of an exchange programme; or temporary voluntary work in an NGO.

Supplement to the Technician Diploma or the Certificate of Professional Competence
This is a document attached to a technical diploma or a certificate of professional competence, describing the holder’s knowledge and skills (it does not replace the diploma). It complements the information included in the official certificate, making it easier for third parties—particularly employers or institutions in another country—to understand it.

Supplement to the Higher Education Diploma
This is a complement to the information included in official certificates and diplomas, making them easier for third parties—especially employers or institutions in another country from the one that issues them.

National EUROPASS Centre

In each country of the European Union and the European Economic Area, there is a National Europass Centre, which coordinates all activities relating to Europass documents and provides information and assistance for using this instrument.
