European Solidarity Corps
The European Solidarity Corps is a new European Union initiative aimed at creating opportunities for young people to volunteer or take part in projects—either in their own countries or abroad—that benefit communities and citizens across Europe.
In the Region of Murcia, you can find more information on the mundojoven.org portal of the Directorate-General for Youth.
Principles
The objective of the European Solidarity Corps is to attract young people to work together in building a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable individuals and responding to social challenges. It offers a stimulating and enriching experience for young people who wish to help, learn, and grow.
Objectives
Participants in the European Solidarity Corps have their own ideas, beliefs, and expectations. Participating organizations must take these needs into account, as they are responsible for creating a respectful, trusting, and welcoming environment. At the same time, organizations taking part in the initiative devote significant time, energy, and resources to ensuring the quality of the activities. Therefore, they expect participants to show a similar degree of respect toward local communities and the people directly involved in the activities.
These general principles of conduct take into consideration the great diversity of possible participants, organizations, and fields in which activities may be carried out, and must be adapted to the specific circumstances of each activity.
