Advanced materials for miniaturized energy harvesting systems
Develop a new generation of advanced materials for the creation of integrated and miniaturized energy harvesting devices - with significantly higher performance than current ones - that will lead to highly efficient and energy-autonomous devices and systems.
Individually or in a consortium.
The consortium may consist of:
- Two entities from two EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Three or more entities, where at least three are based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
The consortium may be composed of an advanced materials science community, a theoretical and computational materials physics and chemistry science community, an innovative SME in the field of energy harvesting, and a large company.
Eligible Lines of Action
Eligible activities must address:
The identification and development of innovative advanced materials for energy harvesting, leveraging new physical or chemical phenomena, leading to a radical change in the scope of application and performance.
The implementation of these advanced materials in a miniaturized energy harvesting module, such as miniaturized solar cells, thermoelectric generators, nanotribological or piezoelectric devices, and electromagnetic wave harvesting devices.
The integration of miniaturized energy harvesting modules into energy-autonomous systems.
The comparative evaluation of the harvesting modules in a representative use case in a laboratory setting.
All proposals must also identify potential markets and the impacts associated with their innovations.
The total budget for this call for proposals is €32,000,000. Funding per project is €4,000,000.
Eight projects will be funded.
