New call for technical assistance from the European C4T initiative "Cohesion for Transitions"
The European initiative Cohesion for Transitions (C4T) has launched a new call for technical assistance aimed at public administrations and bodies responsible for implementing investments linked to European cohesion policy. The application period will remain open until 11 September 2026 at 23:59 (CET).
C4T supports Member States, regions, and local authorities of the European Union in implementing investments related to Policy Objective 2 (PO2): “A greener, low-carbon Europe in transition to a net-zero carbon and resilient economy.”
Who can apply for support?
Eligible beneficiaries include the managing and implementing authorities of programs financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund, as well as other administrations involved in investments related to PO2.
Areas of Action
The C4T Groundwork program's technical assistance focuses on various strategic areas for the green transition, including:
Water management and water resilience.
Energy efficiency in businesses, production processes, and buildings.
Renewable energy and energy communities.
Climate change adaptation and risk prevention.
Smart energy grids and storage infrastructure.
Circular economy and improved waste management.
Nature and biodiversity protection, including Natura 2000 sites and nature-based solutions.
What type of support is offered?
Assistance services are tailored to the specific needs of each beneficiary and include support for project development and prioritization, initiative preparation and implementation, strategy and governance model design, identification of funding and co-financing options, strengthening of institutional capacities, stakeholder engagement, and cooperation with other European regions.
The objective is to strengthen the long-term capacities of the beneficiary administrations and facilitate more effective implementation of investments linked to the green transition.
Submission of applications
Applications can be submitted in English or any of the official languages of the European Union using the corresponding EU Survey questionnaire. The deadline for submission is September 11, 2026.
Interested parties can also consult the catalogue of experiences and projects supported in previous calls for proposals to learn about examples of good practices developed in other European regions.
