The project is included in Lorca's Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations, aimed at improving the municipality's tourism management.

As of today, Lorca features the 'VisitLorca' smart platform. This project—built upon a unified digital ecosystem comprising various applications and tools—enhances the visitor experience while facilitating the marketing and management of Lorca’s tourism resources.

Developed under Lorca’s Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD) and funded with €134,823 from Next Generation EU funds, the project connects various digital applications and tools: a website, a mobile app, a digital tourist card, an industry intranet, and other tourism intelligence applications.

'VisitLorca' represents a significant step forward in the digitalization of Lorca’s tourism offerings by bringing together—within a single environment—tools that support visitors throughout their entire journey.

The platform includes a multilingual website (visitlorca.es) and a mobile app. It provides information for trip planning, ticket sales, and museum reservations, as well as details on accommodation, dining establishments, and shops—aligning with the technologies already deployed by the regional portal, turismoregiondemurcia.es.

Digitalization of the municipality's tourism resources

'VisitLorca' is complemented by another initiative included in Lorca’s Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations, which is dedicated to digitizing tourism resources and has a budget of €87,513.

The project aims to make the municipality's tourism offerings more accessible through new digital tools. To this end, Lorca’s tourism resources and attractions—including celebrations such as Holy Week and the San Clemente festivities—have been digitized.

New content includes 360-degree and 3D models accessible via various devices. These allow potential visitors to experience Lorca’s heritage and main attractions virtually, while also generating new materials to promote the municipality both within and outside the Region.
