The AURORA project has been recognized with the 'Award for Cloud Adoption' as the most outstanding initiative in all of Spain in the application of the UiPath cloud for the execution of automated processes

The AURORA project (Robotic Automation of Operations on the Administration's IT Resources), an initiative that automates nearly one hundred tasks and has saved 80,000 work hours in the regional administration, has been recognized with the ‘Award for Cloud Adoption’.

This award distinguishes the most outstanding initiatives throughout Spain in the application of the UiPath cloud platform, which allows for the deployment, management, and execution of automated processes directly from the cloud.

The project, deployed by the Ministry of Economy, Finance, European Funds, and Digital Transformation, has helped automate a total of 94 processes in just one year.

The Director General of Digital Transformation, Javier Martínez, highlighted that the automation of tasks “streamlines the service provided by the administration to citizens and organizations in the Region of Murcia” and explained that the processes automated through AURORA “are equivalent to the tasks performed by more than one hundred people working for the regional administration.”

“The AURORA project has generated unprecedented resource savings and efficiency in both the private and public sectors, ushering in a new era for public administrations. It allows us to automate repetitive tasks, which in turn frees up public employees who previously had to perform these repetitive tasks to focus on activities that add greater value to the administration's operations,” Martínez stated.

The initiative, with a budget of €1.6 million funded by the European Union's Next Generation EU funds, has been implemented in various management centers across almost all of the regional government's departments and in some autonomous agencies such as the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia (ATRM), and the Employment and Training Service (SEF).

Among the processes that have been automated through AURORA are, for example, those related to the Dependency Law, teacher payroll, personnel management, cultural heritage management, environment, agriculture, industry subsidies or tax management.
